With or without sync, any run comes in by uploading the file your watch downloads. It is your data: you download it, you upload it, you ask nobody.
Your runs arrive on their own from the watch and your plan shows up on its calendar. This is what works today, brand by brand, and what is on the plan.

Strava's terms forbid feeding your data to an AI. Since the coach is one, we do not connect to Strava: your runs arrive from your watch or from its file.
Garmin has paused new applications to its developer programme. Meanwhile Intervals.icu bridges both ways. We will ask for direct access the day they reopen.
